Etsy Shop At Last!

Finally, I've got a solid Etsy shop put together and it feels damn good!

For the last couple months, I have been in a state of doubt which lead me to reevaluate my art and what I really want from it. What I've realized is that I've been worried about success/sales before I even began which in turn is a total waste of time. I should know by now to turn off the doubts, do the work, and let the cards fall. It's the classic, "You'll never know if you don't try" and that's exactly where I'm at. Now that I've stepped into the next realm of selling my work, I can move forward with really loving what I do again. I can get back to getting lost in creativity and forget the rest.

So check it out if ya like: http://www.etsy.com/shop/magzmay

Many thanks for your support.

A special thanks to Crystal who inspired me to move forward with this. Here is a link to her fashion blog: http://dearcrystalina.blogspot.com/

Building a Shop

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to write a little update on what I've been up to the last couple months...

Basically, I have been working hard to get a good range of new product to sell online. I've been making bags, necklaces, shirts, dresses, and other various items. I hope to put up the new line soon, but until then I'd like it to be a surprise and this is why I haven't been posting.

Here are a couple pictures in the mean time...

Rose Dress

I've been trying to find new dresses for work and haven't had any luck since I'm an amazon :). So instead I found this beautiful fabric and made my own maxi dress.

Antler Print Tunic

Here I've used a textile that I made a while back.  It was hand dyed with natural dyes and then screen printed with an antler/deer skull design.

Handmade Oxford Pump

Here's a shoe I made from patterns all the way to molding the heal. It's made of pony hair, printed kidskin, and lasting leather.

Envelope Wristlet

Here's my final project from FIT! It's a envelope wristlet made out of black cowhide, croco embossed lambskin and accented with nickle sheet metal in the handles.
Can't believe I'm graduating this weekend!

Fendi Handbag Sketches

For this project, I designed a more sustainable line for Fendi. Given that Fendi is a high end brand, I first considered the design and what would sell to the Fend consumer. With the consumer in mind, I incorporated sustainable materials that maintain the luxurious quality of the brand: wool tweed, three colors of vegetable tanned leather, red silk velvet, and a striped cotton canvas. Of course there is much more to being sustainable, however, this would just be step one in the process.
